CORONAVIRUS PART 3 – A REAL OR PERCEIVED THREAT?
By Gary Rosenberg

“Things are not always a they seem.”
-Phaedrus

"If one assumes that the number of asymptomatic or minimally symptomatic cases is several times as high as the number of reported cases, the case fatality rate may be considerably less than 1%."
-Anthony Fauci

“….. influenza epidemic is sending people to hospitals and urgent-care centers in every state, and medical centers are responding with extraordinary measures: asking staff to work overtime, setting up triage tents, restricting friends and family visits and canceling elective surgeries, to name a few.”

“We had to treat patients in places where we normally wouldn’t, like in recovery rooms,” says Camins. “The emergency room was very crowded, both with sick patients who needed to be admitted and patients who just needed to be seen and given Tamiflu.”

“In California, which has been particularly hard hit by this season’s flu, several hospitals have set up large “surge tents” outside their emergency departments to accommodate and treat flu patients. Even then, the LA Times reported this week, emergency departments had standing-room only, and some patients had to be treated in hallways.”

“The flu has especially affected hospital patients with other health issues, says Braciszewski, who works with cardiac patients. “Almost every patient in the hospital has the flu, and it’s making their pre-existing conditions worse,” she says. “More and more patients are needing mechanical ventilation due to respiratory failure from the flu and other rampant upper respiratory infections.”

Does this sound familiar?  This was a report in Time Magazine dated January 18, 2018.  Yet, there were no orders to self-quarantine.  So, is the coronavirus outbreak different than past annual viral episodes?  And if so, how?

The reporting on Covad-19 points to how the virus acts differently than other viruses and how it spreads more efficiently.  Yet the most common refrain is that scientists don’t know a lot about this virus and how it just popped out from nowhere.  What the ‘experts’ say is most lethal about this virus is that it attaches to the cells in such a way as to cause cellular malfunction which breaks down the respiratory system and can cause severe pneumonia or pneumonia like failures.

Yet, most people, over 80% experience mild symptoms with many not having any symptoms.  Those most vulnerable are people over 60 years of age with weakened immune systems.  The mortality rate is around 1%. My impression is that there is not enough data available to make an informed decision leaving plenty of room for interpretation, conjecture and manipulation.

Like so much else in the world of health, medicine and science the ‘experts’ often disagree:

“Several other groups have also identified the activation site as possibly enabling the virus to spread efficiently between humans4. They note that these sites are also found in other viruses that spread easily between people, including severe strains of the influenza virus.”

“But some researchers are cautious about overstating the role of the activation site in helping the coronavirus to spread more easily. ‘We don’t know if this is going to be a big deal or not, ’says Jason McLellan, a structural biologist at the University of Texas at Austin.”

“The scary part is we don’t even know how many people get normal coronaviruses every year,” Frieman says. “We don’t have any surveillance networks for coronaviruses like [we do for] flu. We don’t know why they go away in the winter, or where they go. We don’t know how these viruses mutate year on year.” Until now, research has been slow.”

Note the operative word, “scary” in the quote from Mathew Freiman from the University of Maryland School of Medicine.   In fact, most of the what I see different with Covad-19 from all other virus outbreaks is how the news media makes this virus outbreak sound like the greatest existential threat to Humankind.

With the constant barrage of media on this virus pumping up fear daily and the world-wide quarantine which remains a moving target, what this virus has done that no other virus outbreak has accomplished is to literally shut down the world economy and spread fear.  And in America it is even worse with a GDP forecast of -38%.

Let’s consider annual fatality rates of other human events to try and compare.  The annual mortality rate in the United States of all illnesses is .00879% or a total number of 2,813,503. If everyone in the United States were to contract the coronavirus , which is highly unlikely and using Anthony Fauci’s highest  projected mortality rate of 1%, we could see a total number of deaths by this virus of 3,200,000, most of which would be people over 60 years of age with multiple pathologies. However, worst case estimates of Covid -19 deaths in the United states are between 100,000- 240,000 people.

Currently over 600,000 people die of cancer in the United States every year.  We know that 128,000 people die of pharmaceutical drugs every year and no one is calling to stop the making of these drugs.

We also know that the greatest existential threat we face is the total collapse of the biosphere which continues to unravel even in the hysteria of coronavirus.   In addition, there are numerous other existential threats facing humanity that are largely ignored including climate engineering, the ongoing (and unreported) radiation poisoning of the Fukushima Daiichi powerplant, the dying of our oceans, the long-term drop in oxygen levels, increasing methane levels with the melting of permafrost and the very real potential of a world-wide network of dangerous 5G technology. The list of anthropomorphic activity threatening our very existence goes on and on.

Yet the one and only event that poses the greatest threat to Humankind is the coronavirus.  This threat is so great we will destroy whole economies for untold years and with this hundred- of- millions of people’s lives.  Here in the United States we are willing to give up our freedoms of assembly, movement, association and speech stay in quarantine for an indefinite period of time.

Does this event pose such a threat it warrants such current and future devastation?  The major tool of the ruling elite, the Corporate News Media would have us believe so with its daily dose of fear- based reporting.  Something is afoot and it is not the coronavirus.
